What’s in a name?

We’re frequently asked if there is a story behind our name.

Well, yes, there is. You see, blue coral is a unique species of coral and is the sole member of genus Heliopora (Remember your high school biology classifications of Species, Genus, Family, Order, etc.). Blue corals are uniquely named for their distinctive, permanently blue skeleton.

Like the blue coral, Blue Coral Coaching Solutions takes a unique approach to the process of coaching. We use a powerful combination of approaches in our work with clients. The world is awash with problems – who needs to dwell there?

Rather than focusing on problems, we help our clients find solutions and take appropriate action to resolve issues. In fact, helping our clients find Solutions is what we are about. It’s in our name…and everything we do. But for us, it is more than just a name or an approach to coaching.

We have always been drawn to the ocean and its abundance of life. While living in Hawaii, we worked with the Kula Nai’a Wild Dolphin Research Foundation to create and deliver a series of training’s on reef etiquette and conservation for dive and fishing boat captains.

Today, we continue to participate in reef conservation through our support of the Coral Reef Alliance.

The Coral Reef Alliance’s (CORAL) goal is to help make marine protected areas CRA-logo-300x141more effective so that both the coral reefs and local communities that depend on them benefit. CORAL does this by bringing together local community members, resource managers, tourism businesses, divers, and other stakeholders to work toward shared conservation goals that give reefs a better chance of survival.

In each of the project sites around the world in which CORAL works, they focus on six specific areas: 1) sustainable business practices; 2) conservation partnerships; 3) financing opportunities; 4) local threat reduction; 5) effective management; and 6) community benefits.

Our Commitment to the Oceans

Blue Coral Coaching Solutions proudly donates a portion of quarterly revenue to CORAL in support of their important projects.
